Volunteers
But as for me, my prayer is to you, O Lord. At an acceptable time, O God, in the abundance of your steadfast love, answer me. With your faithful help
-
That the Spirit may move upon the hearts of others to give of their time in service to share love and hope
-
For safety in their travels and in their work
-
For strength and wisdom for the task ahead. For those who work long-term organizing local recovery efforts after disasters
-
For the men at Huntersfield Christian Training Center in the Discover Life Ministry - that they have continued grace to grow spiritually and learn new life skills for their recovery
- Specifically for Alan as he join us as a long term volunteer in Pamlico County
What to Bring:
General
Covenant Hills Camp is a Methodist youth camp. With sleeping cabins, a Bath house and a Dining hall and cooking facilities where you will be able to prepare meals (Volunteer groups will have to provide their own food/groceries and prepare meals). One of the camp host staff will be able to help you locate local grocery stores as needed upon your arrival, Though you may wish to plan for a stop at the Walmart or other grocery stores in Montpelier on your way here (35 minutes out).

Be aware... we do have wifi, but there is essentially NO cellular reception at the camp and in much of the region we are serving.

There are Bunk Beds with camp mattresses in the cabins, but volunteers must provide their own bedding, pillows towels and toiletries. The cabins are not conditioned, but depending on where you are from, the evenings may feel pretty cool. The Bath House is right next door with showers and restroom facilities. Be sure to bring your flashlight and shower shoes.
